Altered Clothes Hanger

Humming birds are such beautiful creatures. They symbolise the environment of life and lightness of being, joy and playfulness, as well as adaptability.

I remember as a child while on vacation in Orlando, seeing a Humming bird flutter over a flower in the Magic Kingdom. It's a memory that I've always loved and even more so since my father's passing. It brings so much peace to me. So when I saw that Pattie had a Humming bird in her Etsy store, I had to use it.

I then decided to alter a wooden hanger. I painted it white, then dabbed pale gold paint on it and left the hanger to dry. I coloured Pattie's image in using metalic, water colour and plain colouring pencils, affixed the image to the hanger and then tied fuscia ribbon around it before using those sweet little flowers that you see.

Steampunk Faux Leather

ATC swap

You guessed it...Josie, hosted yet another swap. This time in the G45 Fans thread and it was to make Artist Trading Cards, any theme we liked but it had to be Graphic 45 papers. I struggled with these, perhaps because of their size 2.5x3.5

Each month the lovely amazing super Candace, hosts a Mail Art swap over on Your Paper Pantry. This month's theme was Grunge Vintage. I'm not sure if I got it right but really hope so. As mentioned below, I used the faux leather technique. It's super fun.

Faux Leather Technique Swap

My dear friend Josie, yes, the same Josie as mentioned in my previous post, hosted another tag swap. This time we had to use a faux leather technique. Once I knew what I was actually doing, I'd great fun with the technique...so much so that I even used it for a mail art swap over on Your Paper Pantry. TYFL

Challenge Time

Hey Crafters,

I've decided to host a challenge over on Paper Digital Art & ImagesbyKim, you'll find a blinkie to the right hand side of my blog.

The challenge is to alter an item, any household item but you must take a before and after picture of what you alter. There'll be a prize for the winner and a runner's up prize too. I'll choose a winner on the 29th March, which just happens to be my birthday too...why should I have all the fun.

In the coming days/week, I'll pop up a picture of the prizes up for grabs. They'll be token prizes but it's more about having fun than anything else.
